On Wednesday (January 24), members of THE Alliance, including ONE, HMM, Yangming Shipping and Hapag-Lloyd, collectively issued a statement: THE Alliance will continue to unswervingly cooperate in 2024!
It is understood that on January 17, Hapag-Lloyd announced that it will withdraw from THE liner alliance on January 31, 2025, and carry out a long-term operational collaboration plan called "Gemini" with Maersk from February next year.
THE Alliance has similar rules, but allows its members to give 12 months 'notice after April 2023, and Hapag-Lloyd used that notice to withdraw early from a partnership arrangement that was supposed to last until 2030.
