On January 31, shipping giant Maersk posted a notice on its website saying that the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has started to issue detention notices for aluminum products under the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (UFLPA) and listed aluminum as the fourth product. Under the law, companies must prove that goods from or made in Xinjiang are free of forced labor.
